Founder of J9 Productions, Jeanine Hunchak — known as J9 — has been a respected presence in Calgary’s underground electronic and live music scene for over two decades. Music has always been at the heart of her journey, shaping both her creative expression and her purpose.
From 2011 onward, J9 built a strong reputation curating and producing thoughtfully branded music and arts events, beginning with her own unique burlesque and live performance concepts and later evolving into community-driven electronic music nights that showcased both emerging talent and respected local artists.She is known for her attention to detail, inclusive energy, and her ability to create an inviting, well-curated atmosphere that naturally brings people together.
In recent years, J9 has shifted her primary focus from event production to DJing, stepping fully into her own artistic expression behind the decks. This transition has allowed her to channel her lifelong passion for music in a more personal and intentional way. Today, her creative energy is centred on DJ performance, while future event concepts remain an exciting possibility.
